Comedian Chris Rock is under scrutiny after a 4th of July tweet that read: Happy white peoples independence day the slaves weren't free but I'm sure they enjoyed the fireworks.
Hilarious.
Chris Rock is a zeitgeist and has proven himself to be a lightning rod for controversy on occasion, but if you think about it, what he's saying makes perfectly good sense. As usual.
I love me some Chris! Not only did they enjoy the fireworks, but I am sure had to clean up after. He has a very valid point, the raw ugliness is a vision us white folk want to avoid. We seem to think getting by on being a "do-gooder" solves everything, but they are hollow gestures and vote buyers. Off soap box now.
