Frank Ocean Drops 'Channel Orange' Album a Week Ahead of Schedule

Frank Ocean

Well, well, well.

Looks like it worked.  The mass media push to make discoveries about Frank Ocean after his groundbreaking coming out in the R&B world made his a game changer that should and will affect future R&B crooners who are afraid to follow suit.

Must admit it was a public relations coup, but it wasn't a publicity stunt. Only if Ocean recanted the statement would it be considered a stunt, because we all know that in the world of R&B, it is heavily ensconced in the 18th century of male chauvinism and pretense.

More power to you, Frank. I, for one, have grown quite fond of your music and probably would have never heard your sound had you not had the courage and conviction to live as a free man, completely unfettered by lies and pretending to be something you aren't.

And kudos to Tyler the Creator and his merry band of super talented fools who have supported their boy through thick and thin. As slyly cynical and silly as they tend to be, their hearts are in the right place.

Frank Ocean's 'Channel Orange' is available now....
