Lacefront Revolution....errr....Intervention Part 2

Kelly, now you know that part in the photo below ain’t even right or realistic. Your very large or very long wigs smother too much of that beautiful face, and the end results are never flawless. As we know from your early days in Destiny’s Child, short haircuts are your best friend. Show off that good bone structure and burn these wigs.

Nicki, I know part of your schtick is to look a mess, but these wigs aren’t fooling anybody. Sometimes they’re cute and colorful, but as you can see above and below, sometimes they’re sitting just a few inches above your eyebrows and look like a cap. And let’s not forget the glue on that purple wig that barely finished drying. Clearly this isn’t your hair, but at least make that ish look as close to real as possible…

It’s been a while since you reached for a lace front, Tyra, and that’s probably for good reason. Back in the day, everybody and their mother knew you were rocking a lace front thanks to those edges. Nowadays, you rock shorter and much cuter looks that utilize your own hair, and gave these wigs a semi-permanent break. Kudos to you, boo. Because this look wasn’t working.

Jennifer, now you know you’re my girl. But according to my friends, you’re a repeat lace front offender. I don’t know why though. Maybe it’s because the hair often looks like a helmet when you wear it, and it’s probably because of the glue and makeup used for the front of your forehead where the wig sits, but either way, you need to lay off the look for a while.

Possibly the queen of the lace front since it really started making waves, Kim, you’ve been killing me softly. Brushing down the baby hair to make these wigs look more real hasn’t worked in the way you planned, and the end result is often a look that reminds me of the head of one of my babydolls from childhood. As you get older, less space is being left between the wigs and your eyebrows and I’m scared for you, ma. Let go and let those edges breathe!

Madonna's 'MDNA': And That's Okay

It feels like forever since Madonna released anything of relevance.  'Hard Candy', her experiment with young super producers such as Pharrell Williams was pretty much a wash, making a vail attempt to hearken back to her early 'Everybody' roots, yet, failing dismally. Not as dismally as 'American Life'.

In the span of time between the excellent 'Confessions on the Dancefloor' and now, Lady GaGa and Rhianna have become the divas of the moment. And rightfully so Their individual pushes have been properly diverse and obvbious hommages to the self proclaimed Queen of Pop, herself.  There is an unwritten law that states that pop divas can't age and when they do, they are put out to pasture and most of Madonna's criticism comes from so called pop purists who are actually ageists in disguise. Surprisingly enough, most of the criticism is from females! And after everything Madonna has done for women and gays! Remember, GaGa fans, there would be no Monster movement had Madonna not embraced the gay populace in the wake of AIDS along with Elizabeth Taylor.

And now, Madonna is back with the cleverly titled 'MDNA' (the active ingredient found in Ecstasy pills)  and the Queen is fighting mad. Not at GaGa (though there is the playful swipe by featured artist, Nicki Minaj, rap's current bad bitch) or Rhianna, but at ex husband, Guy Ritchie. And it's a deliciously vicious romp.

Eight of  the sixteen tracks take direct aim at Ritchie and even his new pin-up wife, in a onslaught of digs and slams. The best, 'Gang Bang' where Madonna launches into a devilish tirade in the last 45 seconds chanting 'Drive bitch! And while you're at die, bitch!' I can see this being chanted in clubs around the world this summer! God willing! A fitting end to an angry song about being wronged.

LMFAO remixes the first single, 'Give Me All Your Luv', the poppy, cheerleader Katy Perry-esque song that became the first shot fired from her album.

Granted, 'MDNA' becomes increasingly better over several plays, but the hooks are infectious and undeniable, becoming stuck in your brain like any good hook should. This is Madonna in fighting form. Gorgeous, praying, sinning, bad and uncharacteristically pissed the fuck off while being the diva du jour, bad ass reigning diva of music she is.

All you other bitches, ding ding....class is in.

Super Bowl Fans Go GaGa For 'MDNA'

It's so nice to see an entrance.
Not some rehash of Diana Ross climbing out of an egg on Wolfman Jack's 'Saturday Night Special' while singing 'I'm Coming Out', but a grand spectacle the likes of Liz Taylor being pulled by a legion of minions as Madonna appeared during Super Bowl Sunday's half time show. Don't know who played and really don't give a good goddamn to be honest. The only reason I tuned in was for Madonna's performance with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. And as usual, Madonna didn't disappoint. It was quite the show. Nothing scandalous. Just Madonna doing what she does best. With a bevy of guests including Berry Gordon, Jr. of Motown's secret sons, members of LMFAO and Cee-Lo Green .......once again........making a special appearance, Madonna looked like she was having the time of her life.
So....another Golden Globe win. A new album about to drop. The half time show success. It exhausts me just thinking about it.
I know it's a liberal sin to bad mouth Lady Gaga, but FUCK! Take five, already!
In all fairness, I will agree that she is great support for we gays.
But so is a jock strap.
"L-U-V.......MADONNA!"
